Catawba Valley Medical Center is urging patients to check their health insurance statements following the discovery of a hack involving patient information. The hospital investigated the incident in late August and found out that three hospital employee email accounts were breached between July 4 and Aug. 17, according to a release from the hospital. The emails may have included patient information, including names, birth dates, health information, health insurance information and Social Security numbers, according to the release.
